BV Indonesia recently organized a seminar, titled “EDGE Expert Café” with IFC - International Finance Corporation Indonesia, bringing together over 20 participants to explore sustainable building practices. EDGE Certification, a global green building standard created by IFC, helps developers design greener and more affordable buildings by reducing energy, water and material use.
At the event, our #BVTrustMaker, Kidung Ajisurya shared the impact and opportunities of scaling green buildings across Indonesia. To date, the country has achieved 200 EDGE-certified projects across 25 provinces, delivering annual savings of 100,000 tons of CO₂, 120,000 MWh of electricity, and 4.7 million m³ of water. Looking ahead, a tenfold increase in projects could avoid 1 million tons of CO₂ annually (equal to taking 220,000 cars off the road).
Thank you to everyone who attended our seminar! We are grateful for the opportunity to share our expertise as we remain committed to closing the perception gap around green building costs, building trust through certification and accelerating Indonesia’s journey towards a sustainable future.
