Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited obtains newly created Circular Economy Management System (CEMS) certification from Bureau Veritas Thailand (BVTH)
 

Congratulations Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited on being the first company in Thailand to obtain the newly created Circular Economy Management System (CEMS) certification from Bureau Veritas Thailand (BVTH)! 

The Circular Economy Management System (CEMS) certification is a newly created standard by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), the Center of Excellence in Green Business Strategy (V-Green) at Kasetsart University, the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) and the Ministry of Industry, Thailand. As the first country in South East Asia to develop standards and certification systems for Circular Economy management, the CEMS aims to drive the circular economy under Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green Economic Model (BCG) model and push sustainable growth for the country.

Thai Wacoal Public Company was among 32 pilot organisations chosen to participate in this initiative after a rigorous selection process which includes stringent criteria where the organisation must have a clear circular economy policy and an environmental management system meeting the ISO14001 standard or equivalent, and must be able to disclose information on the implementation of the requirements of the standard.

The CEMS certification represents Thai Wacoal Public Company's commitment to driving sustainable business growth in alignment with the principles of the circular economy. In addition to systematically integrating the standard requirements into every facet of its operations from design to final product, Thai Wacoal Public Company also introduced key projects such as “PET Bottles for a Better Tomorrow” and “Wacoal Braday” which encouraged reusing materials and minimising waste disposal.  

Marking a significant milestone in Thai Wacoal Public Company's sustainability journey, management and staff were in attendance to witness Mr. Prawaltong Tongyai Na Ayutthaya, General Manager of BV Thailand Certification, presenting the certificate to Mr. Metha Supakorn, Executive Director of Thai Wacoal Public Company.
